you don't appreciate durham till you're gone. i missed everyone! it's like a safe haven with everyone you know and care about. but it's good to get away sometimes. (12/29/02)
i was smart, even back then!
so, i got into Loyols in New Orleans.
that's EXCITING!!! at the moment that is my first choice, i haven't visited so we'll see but yay. (12/15/03)
i visited loyola and loved it. i've gotten a $11,000 scholarship for all 4 years (assuming i keep the grades decent) i'm pretty set on loyola. it seems to all be working out. (3/5/04)
I got the graphic design scholarship to Loyola and sent in the intent to enroll form, along with the housing contract. it's official! (4/4/04)
the story of me coming here.... it's an odd one....
so i could not sleep last night, got off the phone with robert at about 11 but i didn't fall asleep till about 12:30, i was just laying there. then this morning i woke up at 6:45, what?? i couldn't go back to sleep so i went for a jog/walk around audobon park. it was really nice, warm but not hot and it really woke me up. i am not planning on doing this every morning cause i like to sleep but it was nice.

wow, today was fabulous. we went to breakfast about 12, a reasonable time then christine and i left at about 1 to go to magazine. i had to buy beans for an art project and we just felt like walking. we went to starbucks, whole foods, and this really cute art sale at a retirement home. it was so relaxing. then we cut back to st charles on napoleon, pretty far down, went to rite aid to get her hair dye, shampoo and conditioner. we were going to rider the street car back up but we decided to walk. it was a gorgeous day and we had never really looked at the houses along st charles. the walk was amazing and relaxing and envigorating, all at the same time. oh man, i loved today. not i'm off to dinner the the basketball game! GO WOLFPACK!

i honestly do not understand how he was re-elected. How was he elected in the first place? by his cousin down in florida calling it then all of the tv stations deciding the one state left, florida went to bush... that does not seem very democratic to me. this year, "ohio is the new florida" and you can quote me on that. i mean, Kerry could have at least stayed and waited it out, until all the votes were counted. Like my absentee vote.... what happened to that?? If absentee votes could rock a state, cause it's all the young people, why would someone give up??
THEN- my main questioning... how can NC elect multiple democrat governors but can not vote democratic for president?? my only conclusion was that more people vote for the presidential and they vote republican. i still don't understand though.

i just had what i think was probably the best day i have had since i got here:
i went to bed last night at 2:30 because we were decorating the floor for halloween. i woke up this morning at 12:30 which i guess was not really the morning but yeah, 12:30. then i took a long shower, put a stamp on the letter to my grandparents and got a smoothie. i went to my 1:30 math class and she handed the tests back. she called my name first and proceeded to tell the class that because of my 100, there was no curve. i was like BANGIN! oh man, so i was there for literally 5 minutes then i had till 2:30- philosophy free. i did the philosophy reading, which i hadn't woken up in time to do but since i didn't have math, i could do. i got to class and like no one was there, because it's friday first of all and not many people come but second because nader was talking on campus. so i daydreamed through class and then it was time to go. I came back here, helped finish the floor decorations (i will post pictures when i get them) then as it approached 5 and we were going to be judged, the fire alarm went off. so, we run outside, Christine's in her costume- majorly hair sprayed hair, red paint (blood) all over her face and hands, and the creepy cat (salem). we got outside and there was free food, oh wow, how perfect! so we eat some pretzels and then go back in. JUDGING STARTS and we sit there for an hour and a half. they finally come and i scared the shit out of one of the judges. it was awesome. so then we ran to dinner to make it in time, which we did. we then went to get movies at the library, the hours and run lola, run. we got back to the room, christine did her paper and i vegged, then we ended up watching scary movie 3, really bad, and now i am here, about to get into bed.
i don't know why it was so great, it just was, everything just fell in place.

Here's my dream:
I was with my friends from home and we were in Costa Rica, I think. My Betina was the driver and she put Wren and I in the back of a tiny, almost golf cart-like, car. We drove around a residential community and saw a lot of beautiful houses. I had a disposable camera and wanted to call my high school photography teacher to tell him what we were doing. One house sticks out in my mind. It was a huge house but the deck stood out to me. It was suspended but had huge trees growing in it. The trees must have had their roots in the deck or something because underneath was empty space. Then beyond the deck was a forest in the water, a swamp type of thing.

so this weekend was GREAT. i got to see robert, i got to see him for 3 days. we went downtown the first night... bourbon st was interesting, it was raining. we went in search of a restaurant that one of his friends had been to a while ago. then we came back here and he met my roommate and suitemate. we then drank a BUNCH of wine. the next morning we came back here and ate breakfast at about 1. we sat around.... he met some more of my friends... it was perfect, until he got me sick. so now i've missed 2 days of classes- one because he was here- and one because i was sick. who knows how i will get all of my work done. i hate that when you get sick you miss class AND get behind and have to do all of the work, while you're sick. so i am going to take my medicine and sleep, alot.

so... i was freaking about my midterm today and i don't know how i did but it is over. that's about all i have to say. i am now counting down the days until robert comes :) he gets in on friday, 5 DAYS!
i have drawing to do and some reading, but not too much so.... i'm just going to try to breeze by.... until saturday.
ok, back to my drawing... i spend so much time out of class on this... uggh

so, friday was good. we went downtown and saw a movie, while everyone else was at "red tide" a party where you get alcohol thrown on you, get piss ass drunk, and basically get fucked up beyond belief. we saw garden state which was GOOD! i really liked it... it was such a typical love movie but it was more interesting. it was more of a romance to take a guy to... not that i was with guys.... i just think they might like it.
then saturday, i slept forever, woke up and went to brunch then headed back downtown for some shopping. we went to urban again, i love that store.... and we searched for a decent priced nail place. they were all the same though so we went to one close to the street car. so i have pretty nails :) i love them... then we got back last night and crashed in front of the tv and watched jersey girl. it was cute but with people talking it wasn't what i expected. maybe i'll watch it tonight again.... hmmm
then sunday, today, i again woke up late. but this time, we cleaned. we vacuumed the carpets, and floors, we cleaned the shower and toilet and did the sinks.... it took a lot but now we're ALL clean. it's great. then we went to eat. then we came back and went swimming and then we went to the residence life council meeting, which we walked out of early cause it was boring and they were just voting... and we didn't know anyone. then we walked to starbucks... mmm mmm mmm, then we came back and had dinner and now we're back here and i'm REALLY tired. i don't know why because i haven't done anything this weekend... as you now know. so i hope i'm not getting sick cause jessica and christine are... uggh. i don't feel sick though...
